Dr. Rob and Shara McKee - Founders
Dr. Rob and Shara McKee are pastors of The Pentecostals of Katy. When they started the church in Katy, they always had the vision to open up a Christian school. A few years later, their dream came to fruition and now KCA is in its 17th year of operation.
Cheri LaGrone - Principal
Cheri LaGrone has worked in education for more than 30 years. Originally from Lewisville, Texas, she moved to Katy in 2007 to start KCA. Cheri graduated from Texas Womans University in 1991 with a Bachelors of Science in Government with an emphasis on prelaw and a minor in English and Criminal Justince. Cheri graduated from Regent University in 2018 with a Masters in Education
Sherry Winslow - Vice Principal
Sherry Winslow is originally from Kelso, Washington. She and her family moved to Texas in 2005 and she began at KCA in 2007.
In her spare time, she loves art (painting, pencil and charcoal), reading and baking for her family.
Sis. Sherry and her husband, Herb, live in Houston, Texas with their two children, Ian and Kaianne, both alumni of KCA.
Monica Taylor - K3 & K4
Monica Taylor is a caring, devoted teacher. She doesn’t just teach her students, she loves them and treats them like her own. She has been educating and guiding young children for 15 years.
Monica enjoys relaxing at the beach and spending time with family. She is a native of Louisiana. She now resides in Katy, Texas where she attends POK and is an asset in many areas of service.
Hannah Bracken - K5
Hannah is originally from Beaumont, TX and came to be with her husband in Katy, TX in 2015. Hannah has taught at KCA since 2020. Has also taught in schools across Dallas. In 2021, she had the opportunity to teach in a phonics program and learned so much about helping kids learn how to read.
Hannah graduated from Lamar University in 2015 with a bachelor's degree in music education.
She is passionate about all things music, arts and teaching. In her spare time, she loves song writing, calligraphy, graphic design and traveling to new and exciting places.
Seyrah Balboa - 1st & 2nd
Seyrah is currently pursuing her Human Services Bachelor's Degree online at Urshan College, where she seamlessly merges her love for teaching with a genuine connection to children. Beyond her academic pursuits, Seyrah thrives on outdoor adventures and seeks out new coffee shops on the regular. She also enjoys going to new places and immersing herself in diverse cultures through traveling.
Rose Querin - 3rd & 4th
Rosa (Rose) Querin is originally from San Antonio. After marrying her husband, Thomas Querin, she moved to Houston/Katy area in 2001.
Rose Querin has served at KCA since 2009, teaching in a variety of areas including PreK, Kindergarten, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th & 6th grades. In addition, one year she accepted a position as KCA’s PE teacher for multiple grades and has lead KCA’s After School program several different years.
Four of her six children are KCA alumni. She also currently has a granddaughter attending KCA.
In her spare time she loves spending time with her grandbabies, traveling, cooking for her family, and learning ASL.
Maci Pedigo - 5th & 6th
Maci Pedigo has been teaching at KCA since 2023. She brings 5 years of classroom experience with grades ranging from 1st-12th at Calvary Christian School in Indianapolis, IN. She enjoys helping students discover their potential.
Maci graduated from Indiana Bible College in 2016 with a bachelor’s degree in worship studies. She is currently pursuing a master’s degree in ministry with a focus on Worship Studies at Indiana Wesleyan University Seminary.
Maci is a gifted soloist and songwriter, as well as an avid reader. She loves travel and exploring. Her ministry has taken her across most of the U.S. and onto foreign soil.
Ashley Smith - 7th & 8th
Ashley and her husband, Rev. Bryan Smith, moved back to the Houston area in 2021 after pastoring in Georgia for several years. She is happy to be back in her home state of Texas!
Ashley is an alumni of Life Christian Academy and began working at LCA immediately following her graduation in 2000. After taking some time to work in various pastoral roles with her husband, she went back to school and graduated from Liberty University in 2021 with a B.S. in Psychology. Her cognate was Christian Counseling. Currently, she passionately serves as the Sunday School Director at The Pentecostals of Katy! She has held many teaching and leadership positions in various private schools and Sunday School departments within the past 20 years.
Her dedication and enthusiasm is directed to all children! She is devoted to helping them cultivate a lasting relationship with Christ and fostering a love for learning.
Maegan Sharp - 9th -12th
Maegan has been teaching at KCA since 2009. She has served as the teacher for many grades including K5, 1st, 5th-8th, and now is currently the high school teacher. She loves to help plan for various events at KCA such as ACTS Convention and Elementary Convention. Above all, Maegan's priority is to see her students grow academically, spiritually, and socially.
Debbie Meyer - Office Assistant
Debbie Meyer is originally from Lewisville, Texas and moved to Katy in 2009.
In addition to being a wife and a mom, she is also a pastor's wife. Her husband is Pastor of the Spanish ministry at their church.
In her spare time, she loves to draw, take pictures, and to travel. Debbie lives in Katy with her husband, Henry and their son, Gentry.
Ryan Bracken - Assistant Administrative Principal
Ryan has been in Katy since 2008 and graduated from KCA in 2011. He is 2015 alumni from Texas Bible College with a bachelor's in theology. Ryan graduated in 2023 from Hope International University with a Masters in Leadership.
He is the husband of Hannah Bracken, who is also a teacher at KCA.
Ryan is a licensed minister with the UPCI and is a minister of the Pentecostals of Katy. During his free time, he enjoys fishing, basketball, and wood working.
Justin Wilson - Volleyball Coach
Justin Wilson has been attending the Pentecostals of Katy since 2009 with his parents. He is an Air Force veteran residing in Katy, TX with his wife, Megan and daughter, Alyssa.
He has been playing volleyball for almost 2 decades and enjoys playing for fun on the weekends. He found his passion for coaching volleyball recently and is excited about his future with KCA.

Katy Christian Academy believes in the Bible and believes it to be the authoritative Word of God and is core to all our programs.
Our History
KCA opened its doors in August of 2007. We began with open enrollment for K5 through 12th Grade, occupying one building on the property. We have since expanded to include PreK classes.
